NEW WOUND CARE CLINIC
Opening in November, West Park Hospital’s Wound Care
Clinic will offer education about chronic wounds and the
treatments available at the Center. Chronic wounds affect
approximately 6.7 million people in the United States. An
aging population and increasing rates of diseases and
conditions such as diabetes, obesity and the late effects
of radiation therapy contribute to the chronic wound
epidemic.
Leading edge treatments at our clinic will include
negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered tissues,
biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The
Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which
works by exposing the patient to 100 percent oxygen to
help support the healing process.
